It has been first ly the Indians and then the US-led West who led to the tragic situation. Sinhala chauvinism and state oppression have to be dealt with by the people. The US is now pushing against Sri Lanka not out of love for Tamils but to bring the SL govt under its control. The Tamils have to find a set of allies that they have for long ignored within the island. The Cuban, Venezuelan and other governments saw through the US agenda of 'human rights' in Sri Lanka. Their response was far sighted. One must be joking to say that human rights offnders will be punished by the UN or the international community. Punishments are selective and based on imperialist agenda. It is rather incorrect to see the issues in this fashion.
